Summary

We’re looking for an energetic and enthusiastic senior level software engineer to directly contribute to Wireless LAN Access products. Our products service a wide range of markets including Operator, Retail, Set Top Box and Media. In this role you will be part of a team that focuses on system level and WLAN driver datapath performance and features for our existing and next generation of WLAN devices. You will need strong interpersonal skills and a solid technical background. We’re writing C code and you must be an excellent C coder. You will have the opportunity to gain expertise in various technical areas and help drive new features and roadmap. This position is located at our San Jose location.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidates are seasoned technical leaders with a background in networking and embedded Linux who are excited about 802.11 wireless networking. The ideal candidate should have experience developing and driving development of complex technical projects. Candidates should be strong Linux or embedded software engineers with experience in networking protocols. They must have solid experience in OS internals such as device drivers, networking interfaces, and the TCP/IP stack. Our team works closely with Systems, Board, ASIC, and microcode engineers as we participate in the full product lifecycle from pre-silicon all the way through full software reference designs. Our environment and tasks are dynamic. To be successful you must work well with different personalities, thrive when faced with multiple issues at the same time, and take satisfaction in approaching and knocking down unexpected issues.

Required Skillsets
• 7+ years Linux or BSD driver and kernel development
• Experience working in the data path of Wireless LAN device driver
• Excellent C coding and debugging skills
• 5+ years Networking driver development (Linux or BSD)
• 3+ years Networking protocol development (Linux or BSD)
• Experience optimizing embedded software for memory and performance
• Minimum of a BS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field
