Sr. Android SDK Developer for a Connected Home Start-up

You will work with a team of skilled engineers, designers, and product team focused on delivering a high-quality product.

The Android SDK is part of the cloud-based Connected Home offering used by organizations around the world to serve their consumers.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the team to continuously enhance our Android SDK platform
• Continuously improve the capabilities of the Reference App
• Collaborate with Product and Development team to provide estimations, timelines and risks associated with development within the Agile methodology
• Follow a customer-centric approach and ensure the solutions developed to meet the customer requirements

Must Have Skillsets
• 5+ years’ experience with native Android applications
• Have delivered multiple consumer grade or business-business-consumer apps and or SDK’s
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• You’re a veteran developer of Android solutions with a deep understanding of the factors that contribute to creating a robust and stable application/SDK
• Excellent knowledge in core Java
• Strong knowledge of applications that integrate with RESTful web services
• Strong Knowledge of Android SDK’s – including WiFi, Networking, etc
• Fluency with an Android Studio/Eclipse/IntelliJ development environment
• Knowledge of Android design patterns, OOP and development best practices
• Hands-on experience in the full lifecycle of Android application development
• Hands-on experience developing an Android SDK – reference app, code examples, API documentation, etc

Nice to Have Skillsets
• Experience delivering large scale apps or SDK’s (100M+ installs)
• Experience with test-driven development
• Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools
• WiFi/networking experience a plus
• Certification is not required but is a big plus
