Job Description:
E911 Field Validation Engineer in Austin, TX
You will be responsible for running E911 tests in the field and collecting logs. You must know how to post-process and have good problem-solving skills. You will go out to the field to run tests, collect logs and post process. After the tests are complete, you will come back to the office and do first-level analysis of the tests. Responsible for 911 message tests. You must have experience validating emergency protocol for Cellular and have a good understanding of the protocol stack. You will be provided a Driver and a vehicle for field testing.
Travel: During the work week, you will be in the field for 2-3 days and doing lab analysis for 2-3 days. You will travel to a city out of state once a quarter for 1 week.
Requirements:
You must have experience in E911/Cellular field testing -OR- QA testing in the lab.
You must have knowledge in cellular domain with good understanding of 911 protocol stack
You must have experience in device configuration, log collection, first-level analysis and report generation.
Experience with E911 on the device side: 911 for LTE, 911 for 5G, or 911 2G (have an understanding of protocol flow)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good problem-solving skills and able to drive multiple tasks with minimal supervision
You must be able to travel local and non-local in short notice
Preferred skillsets:
Scripting Experience (MATLAB/Python/shell)
Cellular field testing experience is preferred but not required.
