Test Engineer for Global Automotive Company in Raymond, Ohio.

You will be part of a highly selective group of engineers in charge of protecting this global automotive company’s legacy of world-class reliability. You will be responsible for integrating various technology that will assist the development of the vehicle line-up and work with multiple departments, associates and suppliers to assist with the vehicle development and integration of software functions. This position will work on this project on its early stages of development and get to see it grow.
Responsibilities:
Integrate braking and stability assist technology into vehicle line-up.
Review current electronic controls systems specifications
Develop the functional requirements related to Controller Area Network interface, Self-Diagnostic, Failsafe Detection for each vehicle development.
Validate electronic braking and stability assist system software function by completing standard requirement testing on bench and in vehicle by proving grounds.
Validate electrical hardware by EMC and ultrasonic testing and work with supplier to countermeasure any issues found.
Support ISO 26262 testing, maintain deliverable schedule, and ensure requirements are achieved and approved by technical experts.
Work directly with the system supplier to lead the integration of software functions into the vehicle, as well as verification of the functions.
Negotiate requirements across multiple functions (meter, ADAS, architecture, etc) teams
Coordinate with design functions to ensure correct control specifications are applied to the electronic brake and stability assist system drawings.
Coordinate with factory associates during build phases to ensure controls are achieving required specifications.
Lead chassis software and control issue resolution across engineering (manufacturing) and design.
Coordinate with the global office key deliverables to regional developments.
Required Skillset:
2+ years of test engineering experience
Fluency of electrical components, EMC and ultrasonic.
Strong understanding of requirement management, function validation, diagnostics, and CAN structures or similar micro controller communication structures.
Hands on experience on mechanical ability
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automotive Engineering with electrical focus.
Strong understanding of vehicle systems and cross functional interactions.
Experience troubleshooting control system issues, propose and implement potential solutions.
Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other technical software.
Familiarity with ISO 26262 standard for functional safety.
2+ years of test engineering experience in required test and confirmation per area of brake and vehicle stability assist control system.
Bonus Skillset:
Knowledge of control system is highly encouraged.
Experience with data acquisition systems such as Vector CAN tools
