Job Description:
A global consumer device company is looking for a lifeguard to oversee a fitness tester who will be swimming in shallow depths of water (ocean, reservoir, lake, pool).
This position will require you to be available on-call for 1-4 sessions, which are estimated to be 3-6 hours long each. The total weekly commitment for this position could range between 3-10 hours.
We understand the importance of scheduling, so we'll make sure to provide you with at least 24-hour notice ahead of each session.
The fitness tester you will oversee will typically swim for 15-20 minutes at a time in water depths ranging from 4 to 6 feet. You are expected to monitor the designed area throughout the entire swim session.
Responsibilities
Respond swiftly and efficiently to water-related emergencies, including water rescues, providing first aid, and administering CPR/AED when necessary.
Collaborate with emergency response personnel, such as paramedics, police, or fire departments, to ensure seamless coordination during major incidents or accidents.
You will meet at the office Cupertino and be driven to testing sites up to 1-hour away. The test sites will be in Santa Clara County, Monterey, and Pleasanton CA
Transportation/Driver will be provided
You will be at the testing site for up to 4 hours
You will be on call and be given at least a 24-hour notice of the work schedule
Requirements
Must possess a Lifeguard Certification from a recognized authority or organization, specifically for ocean and pool rescue.
Must be CPR certified, including training in administering Automated External Defibrillator (AED) techniques.
Must possess and maintain personal lifeguard gear, including a rescue buoy, first aid kit, whistle, and appropriate attire, suitable for ocean and pool lifeguarding.
Must have exceptional swimming capabilities, including endurance, speed, and proficiency in ocean environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with the public, team members, and emergency response personnel.
Have a comprehensive understanding of ocean and pool safety protocols, equipment usage, and rescue techniques.
Location: Cupertino, CA
Duration: 6+ months, 1-4 swim sessions a week
Pay Rate Range: $28-35/h (DOE)
